
Since Tiger Woods apologized to the public, it appears most Americans believed his sincerity. According to an ABC News/ESPN survey, it showed more than half of Americans believe that Tiger Woods's apology is sincere and willing to forgive his behavior. In the poll conducted 54 percent respondents said Woods are sincere in his apology, and 55 precent are ready to forgive him. Despite most respondents believing Woods was sincere in his apology, only 39 percent say they still have a favorable opinion of the world's No. 1 golfer following all of the recent events. Compare this with personal approval ratings of 88 percent in 2000 and 84 percent in 2001 and 85 percent in 2005.
By contrast, those who do not like Tiger Woods and people like him, the ratio is similar to about 35%. The public apology has no impact on this figure changes.
